Students examine the foundations of authentic leadership including values-based frameworks, self-determination theory, and identity. They explore how personal values and lived experience shape leadership style and how to lead with integrity in complex organisations.

Students design and implement a personal visibility and networking strategy. The module covers the architecture of professional networks and the specific dynamics that shape women's access to high-value networks. A guest lecturer brings direct experience of building executive presence and influence.

  • Distinguish the roles of mentors, sponsors, allies, and connectors.

Students develop advanced skills in assertive communication, negotiation, and advocacy with attention to the gendered dimensions of influence in senior environments. Through live simulations and case analysis they practise articulating positions with authority and facilitating difficult conversations.

Students analyse systemic barriers to women's leadership advancement and develop tools to create psychologically safe, inclusive team environments. The module integrates research on belonging and equity with leadership practice.

Students develop an evidence-informed approach to lifelong professional development. The module integrates coaching methodology, stretch assignment design, and feedback integration so students leave with a sustained practice of learning and growth that outlasts the programme.

Capstone: Leadership in Action

The Capstone is the culminating assessment of the programme. Students identify a real leadership challenge from their professional context and develop a comprehensive strategic response drawing on competencies, frameworks, and insights from across the programme. The final presentation is delivered to a panel of Academic Faculty and guest lecturers.

  • Integrate learning across all five competency clusters in response to a complex real-world leadership challenge.
  • Demonstrate Post Bachelor-level capability in analysis, judgement, and strategic communication.
  • Present and defend a leadership recommendation to a senior panel.
